Dr. Björn Badersten is Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow and our former Head of Department, now Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Social Sciences. His main fields of research and teaching are Political Theory, Ethics and Aestethics, and Philosophy of Science. Empirically, he has a particular interest in cities as political space. His recent publications include an introductory textbook in political science, an edited volume on the "state of the art" of Swedish political science, a book on normative methodology, a book chapter on "Political Prudence", a book chapter on "The Renaissance of the City State" and a book chapter on "The Square as Political Space". Since January 2009 he is the assistant editor of Statsvetenskaplig tidskrift ("The Swedish Journal of Political Science"). In July 2011 he obtained the title Excellent Teaching Pracitioner (ETP), and In 2015 he received Lunds universitets studentkårer’s pedagogical prize.
This fall semester he teaches two courses in political science, a graduate course entitled "Methods in Political Science" and a master's course entitled "Political Order in Time and Space".
